Young people went out to study how the city impacts them and how they impact the city 🏙 for 5 days in Rzeszów, Poland from 17th August till 29th of August 2026 during a study visit called LeaderShift: Youth Initiatives. ✨

5 days spent in spaces where young people concentrate were filled with discussions and excursions aimed at discovering how cities and young people living in them mutually impact each other. 💫

🌍From exploring different spaces for youth in Rzeszów to discussions about possible improvements in what cities offer to youth and what could youth do for their surroundings the participants shared ideas of how to improve their own home communities. 📈

Sharing ideas, traditions, experiences, and stories with people from many different countries 🧠🎶 while creating memories, having fun, and building friendships that will stay with us and help improve communities all across Europe. 🤍📸🌱

“But I can’t draw!” probably one of the first thoughts when visual facilitation enters the programme. 😅

Luckily, Day 4 wasn’t about becoming artists.

We explored visual facilitation and practised using simple drawings, symbols, colours, lettering, and visual structures to make information easier for a group to understand. ✏️

We grabbed the markers, experimented on paper, and discovered that a very simple visual can sometimes explain an idea faster than another paragraph of text. 👀

And that’s the point: your drawing doesn’t need to be perfect. If people understand what you’re trying to communicate, it’s doing its job.

Our flipcharts may have become a little more colourful after this day… and we’re definitely not complaining. 🌈

Plot twist: being the person at the front doesn’t mean you should be the person talking the most. 👀

Day 3 was all about facilitation and what it actually means to guide a group through a learning experience.

We explored what can make facilitation work well; from giving understandable instructions and asking the right questions to listening to the group, noticing its energy, and knowing when to step in or step back. 💬

And because this was a training about learning through practice, we didn’t stop at theory. We worked with real group situations and started looking at activities through the eyes of a facilitator. 🤝

It made us realise how many little decisions happen behind an activity that might look simple when you’re participating in it.

Good facilitation isn’t about having all the answers. Sometimes it’s about helping the group find their own. 🌱

Think about something you’re really good at. Did you learn it by listening to someone talk about it… or by actually trying it? 👀

On Day 2, we got into non-formal education and explored how learning can happen through experience, activities, discussions, teamwork, and reflection. 🌱

We looked at ideas like experiential learning, learning goals and different ways people learn but instead of only hearing the theory, we experienced different methods ourselves. 💬

We did something, reflected on what happened, connected it to what we were learning, and started thinking about how we could use the same approach with young people.

That’s one of the things we like about non-formal education: you’re not just sitting there collecting information. You’re part of the learning. 🙌

Six days together have to start somewhere… and ours started with a lot of new names. 😄

We kicked off our training in Jahodná by getting to know each other, breaking the ice, and creating a space where everyone could feel comfortable joining in. 🤝

Through different activities and conversations, we slowly went from being a group of people who had just met to people who were ready to learn, share ideas, and work together. And yes, remembering everyone’s name was part of the challenge. 👀

It might seem like the easy part of a training, but creating a good atmosphere from the beginning changes everything that comes afterwards. When people feel comfortable, they’re much more willing to speak up, try something new, and even make mistakes. 💬

Day 1 gave us exactly that starting point and plenty of curiosity for what was coming next. 🌿

Over a week full of trips to nature, new friendships, intercultural evenings, and discovering what nature provides fo us and how can we protect it. 💫

🌍From exploring different Estonian biomes to learning about mental wellbeing, digital skills, crafts, and healthier relationship with nature, every day brought something new. ✨🧠

We shared our cultures, traditions, food, and stories with people from many different countries 🌍🍴🎶 while creating memories, having fun, and building friendships that will stay with us long after we leave Estonia. 🤍✨📸

🌿 ZenZone Diary – DAY 7 🌿
✨ A diary written by our participants ✨

Sunday started with a session about the last type of rest – sensory rest. We spent it outside, in nature, reflecting and quieting our senses. We also got the chance to make our own essential oil blends to remind us of the project.

The afternoon was spent saying goodbye. We revealed our secret friends, received our Youthpass certificates, and enjoyed the last true session together.

In the evening, we had a campfire and spent our last moments together, enjoying each other’s company and looking back on the beautiful week we shared.

A beautiful ending to an unforgettable experience. 🌿💚✨
