In September last year, I had probably the best week of my life. It was a youth exchange in Burgas, Bulgaria. It was there that I came into contact with the whole Erasmus+ programme for the first time. It was a week full of discovery: new country, new people, new topic, new way of learning, new system…
Simply a new experience. More precisely: a new AMAZING experience. Thanks to the Erasmus+ project, I started to dig deeper into the whole programme and I found out that all this was only possible thanks to a hard-working group of enthusiastic volunteers from Youthfully Yours. That’s when I realised that I wanted to be one of them.
This need of mine, let’s call it, to be in the thick of things also came at a perfectly opportune time – I was looking for an opportunity to volunteer as part of a goal at the DofE – all the more reason to apply. So that’s how it all started. Then I “just” applied, filled in the form, was interviewed and then…
Here I am, (as Harry Potter would say 😉 Jakub, Jakub Remen. Student of the bilingual high school in Nitra (Golianko) and volunteer for Youthfully Yours. If I’m not working on something “important”, you can probably find me either somewhere in the woods behind our house, in the living room in front of the TV, or somewhere outside of Slovakia…
Hence, I like nature walks (combined with photography), relaxing while watching Netflix and travelling. /Traveling is one of my new hobbies thanks to YYSK./
