News from the project

Kick-off meeting

We’re thrilled to share the outcome of the first partner meeting of the SHER-Y Project, held in Riga, Latvia on November 21–22, 2024. Together with our partners from Latvia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Lithuania, we came together to lay the groundwork for a project focused on creating safe learning spaces, empowering youth voices, and enhancing social inclusion through education.

Key Highlights from the Meeting

1. Methodology for Co-Creation Workshops

One of the major outcomes was the finalization of the Methodology for Co-Creation Workshops with adolescents. After collaborative discussions, we agreed on the core topics for the workshops.

These workshops will provide young people with critical tools for understanding consent and building healthy relationships, while also fostering an environment of trust and open communication. Partners agreed that the workshops would start rolling out by December 2024, with Betterfuture, CBA, and Youthfully Yours implementing them first, followed by MARTA Centre and Ribologija in January 2025.

2. Guidebook Framework Development

We also worked on the initial framework for the SHER-Y Guidebook, designed to be a self-reflection workbook for young people. This guidebook will encourage self-awareness and personal growth through interactive activities.

3. Dissemination Strategy and Materials

The project’s dissemination strategy was also a key point of focus. Publicity templates for social media and other channels were introduced, with partners encouraged to use the SHER-Y logo and EU branding. This approach ensures that our outreach efforts are consistent and aligned with project branding.

Next Steps and Future Goals

With the methodology and guidebook framework established, the next phase will be focused on:

  • Finalizing the competency matrix and assigning sections to each partner for the guidebook.

  • Continuing the development of the toolbox for youth workers, which will support the facilitation of group activities and help guide adolescents in their self-reflection process.

Thank You to Our Partners

We would like to thank all our partners for their active participation and dedication to this project. The collaboration during this first meeting has been instrumental in shaping the direction of SHER-Y, and we are excited to move forward with the next steps in the project.
