Why?

I’ve always been a big believer in the idea that humans create ourselves, that we are a mosaic of our experiences, the people we surround ourselves with, and most importantly, what we do. The older I get, the more I realise how what we do loses weight if we do it just for ourselves.
I always knew I wanted to do more, more for myself and more for my community, so I always liked to get involved in different volunteering activities and became a European Solidarity Corps volunteer, for example. But trying to find a balance between giving time to yourself and giving time to others is often challenging in today’s fast-paced world and therefore, I appreciate all the more that YY SK offers me the opportunity to benefit both sides at the same time.
I believe that we, young people, are the future and that is why the vision of our organisation appealed to me in particular. I am convinced that almost every young person wishes to be educated and informed, to have opportunities to develop themselves and their competences, locally or internationally.
The need to help these young people achieve everything they want and much more is part of each of my colleagues, which is why it is extremely inspiring for me to work in such a team of people. I believe that big changes start small and I believe that if we want it bad enough, each and every one of us can be the change we want to see in the world.
