Act it Out
Act it out, a project held during still stressful times of the pandemic was the first Erasmus+ exchange experience for most of us. We had different expectations and some of us did not even know what to expect. However, our biggest expectation and motivation to participate was to meet new people and gain new friends.
And this one was fully fulfilled. We've met incredible people, from different backgrounds and unique life stories. Conversations, opinion,s and values exchanges with such people were enriching, or even perspective-changing. We realized that we should be more grateful for our everyday lives and that Slovakia, despite its problems and deficits, is, at the end of the day, a good place to live. Furthermore, we established some lifelong friendships, within the Slovak group, as well as beyond our borders.
Regarding the program about the main topic, filmmaking, most of us were inexperienced as well. Fortunately, the organizers took us through the main technical issues and requirements. They also organized a workshop, where we all addressed the biggest global and national issues, from which we chose the topics of our movies. Most of them were about the quality of the education, a problem which all the participants have or are facing. We were divided into five groups, consisting of different nationalities. We had just a few days to write the script, shoot the scenes and edit the films to their final version before they were projected on a big screen in a local cinema. Overall it was a success, considering the conditions and our skills, even though we've faced several challenges during the process. The cinema evening was the climax of the whole exchange. One of us, Martin, was the main presenter of the evening, we had some local and foreign guests, fruitful discussions about the process of filmmaking and the topics of the movies and, in the end, all the movies were enjoyed.
We are very grateful for such an amazing opportunity. The project was an incredible experience, which we will never forget.
