EuroYouthVoice
EuroYouthVoice
In dates of 2. april-10. april 2024 in Latvia, we experienced project EuroYouthVoice about the importance of youth
voice in elections of European parliament. We met with each other as an amazing Slovak group so it was easier for us
to join the other participants from other countries right from the start.
Our project took place in beautiful environment surrounding forests next to the village of Sigulda. We had an
incredible view of the nearby meadows and accessible forest paths for walking. Very interesting was for us an
experience with weather were one day we were building a snowman and another day we were enjoying hot weather
during the walk. We lived in a cozy cottages and 2 hotels near the area. After each day of engaging informal
education, participants could take a rest in the sauna, as a well-deserved moment of relaxation.
Our days were filled with lively discussions, interactive games, and insightful sessions where we explored the intricate
workings of the European Union. Through engaging workshops and activities, we gained a deeper understanding of
the significance of our voices in shaping the future of European Union. We got explained processes in EU by a
simulation game with all of us. We were given the opportunity to be creative and present our opinions and we became
familiar with situations in other countries. Our project officially ends after the campaign that we are working hard on
for the next 8 weeks after the project.
A cultural night is usually part of the Erasmus projects. It was an evening where individual states presented their
traditions, food, dance and culture. We enjoyed this very much! Tables during the intercultural night were really rich
and we had a chance to taste different foods and delicacies from Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, France, Spain, Italy and
Poland. Except of the food during the cultural night, we would like to thank the restaurant where we could enjoy
delicious food with the variety of choice every day from the breakfast to dinner.
We shared stories, exchanged ideas, and debated the issues close to our hearts, strangers became friends, and
friendships blossomed into lifelong connections. Through laughter and learning, snowflakes and sunshine, we
discovered the true power of youth voices and the boundless potential that lies within each of us to effect positive
change in our world. Sigulda will hold a special place in our hearts as the backdrop to an unforgettable chapter in our
Erasmus journey.
