The training course will take place between the 22nd of April and the 29th of April 2024 in Puck, Poland.
The project "Connect Before Correct" aims to enhance empathic skills and knowledge among participants, focusing on creating meaningful and authentic relationships. The training course is designed to help participants improve their communication skills, particularly supporting young people through their emotional struggles. Based on Nonviolent Communication (NVC) principles, the program offers theoretical understanding and practical application.
Objectives of the training course:

- Introducing participants to empathy and the fundamentals of Nonviolent Communication (NVC).
- Exploring potential barriers in communication, particularly when interacting with young people.
- Developing deep listening skills to understand the core expressions, feelings, and needs of others, thereby fostering trust and safety in relationships.
- Contrasting habitual (dominant) language with the language of connection.
- Teaching participants how to effectively receive "difficult" messages and shift from reactivity to relatedness.
- Emphasizing self-empathy and self-care as essential tools for educators.
- Providing insights into interpersonal neurobiology to understand human behavior and the role of empathy in self-regulation.
- The four steps towards mutual connection and understanding include distinguishing observations versus interpretations, feelings versus thoughts, needs versus strategies, and requests versus demands.
- Fostering empathic listening and honest self-expression, emphasizing openness, curiosity, self-respect, and boundaries.
- Offering guidance on expressing "no" with honesty and respect and receiving "no" with empathy and curiosity.
- Facilitating the transition from conflict to dilemma resolution, aiming for win-win solutions.

Partcipant requirements:
- Above 18 and no upper age limit
- Openness to learning: Participants should be willing to engage in learning and explore new concepts and techniques related to empathy and communication.
- Commitment to personal growth: Participants should be motivated to improve their empathic skills and communication abilities to support young people in their emotional struggles better.
- Active participation: Group activities, discussions, and exercises are essential for maximizing the learning experience and gaining practical skills.
- Respectful attitude: Participants should demonstrate respect towards others in the training environment, including fellow participants, trainers, and guest speakers.
- Willingness to practice: Effective communication skills require practice and application. Participants should be prepared to engage in role-plays, reflective exercises, and real-life scenarios to apply the concepts learned during the training.
- Be able to communicate in English.
Important info:
Accommodation, meals, and the program throughout the project are fully reimbursed according to the rules of the Erasmus + program through the project organizer.
Travel costs will be reimbursed to the participant for up to 275€.
Each participant is individually responsible for the planning and implementation of the trip. Extremely important: The participant is obliged to keep the travel document to and from the destination and hand it over / send it to the project organizer according to his instructions.
Insurance: Travel insurance is NOT paid by the participants or subsequently reimbursed. Each participant is obliged to take out health insurance, which is valid in Poland.
