TC EU Sparks
In early April a diverse group of young people gathered for a unique Erasmus+ training course dedicated to exploring the importance of the European Union. The week-long program brought together participants from various EU countries, all eager to deepen their understanding of the EU’s role in shaping peace, unity, and cooperation across the continent.
The course combined workshops, discussions, and cultural exchanges to foster a sense of shared European identity. Participants engaged in interactive sessions on the history of the EU, its institutions, and the core values it upholds – such as democracy, human rights, and solidarity.
Experts in European policy and youth engagement led seminars that highlighted how the EU influences everything from education and environmental policies to freedom of movement and labor market.
One of the key focuses of the training was to empower young people to become active citizens and advocates for European unity. Through group projects and role-playing simulations, attendees gained hands-on experience in understanding how the Union operates and how citizens can contribute to shaping its future.
Beyond the venue, the scenic setting of Recoaro Terme served as the perfect backdrop for intercultural learning. Participants shared their own national perspectives and bonded over traditional Italian meals, hikes, and music. These informal moments helped reinforce the training’s core message: that unity in diversity is not just a slogan, but a lived experience within the EU.
By the end of the course, participants left not only with greater knowledge of the European Union but also with a renewed sense of purpose – strengthen democratic values, and promote cross-border understanding in their communities.
