Sicily against hate speech

In the middle of May I participated on the project SAHS – Sicily Against Hate Speech, which was organised by Italian Generazione Zero. It was a 4 days course addressing the current problems of hate speech, hoax, fake news and other. For the present pandemic we had to meet only online, but it was still an adequate training. The organisers prepared a lots of activities for us, from the ice-breakers in the beginning, through different discussions in smaller or bigger groups to a mockumentary, which we later analysed in detail. There was even a guest, an Italian journalist, with whom we discussed fake news, how to recognize them and more importantly avoid them. In order to improve our relations with the new group of friends, the organisers prepared a social evening. During this we had a contest, sang some songs and talked about stereotypes in our countries.
