YE Film Ecology

In December, we took part in a one-week film Erasmus project in Poronin, Poland. It was a unique experience during which we met participants from Poland, Spain, and Ukraine. From the very first day, there was a friendly atmosphere, and we quickly formed new friendships. It was snowing during our stay, which gave the whole exchange a magical winter feeling.

The program was focused on film and advertising. We learned about the basics of filmmaking, how advertisements are created, and even got the chance to produce our own short videos. These activities were not only educational but also helped us bond as a group. One day we visited a film school in Kraków, where we saw professional equipment and met people working in the film industry. Another day, we took a trip to the beautiful town of Zakopane, where we admired traditional architecture and the stunning winter landscape.

Throughout the week, we also had the chance to taste some traditional Polish dishes, such as pierogi and barszcz. We cooked together, shared meals, and talked about our cultural differences. Every evening, we had a culture night, where each country presented its traditions, language, and fun facts. We also brought typical sweets to share – the Polish brought pączki, we shared Slovak horalky and gingerbread, the Spanish brought churros, and the Ukrainians brought homemade cakes. These evenings were fun, educational, and brought us even closer together.

This Erasmus in Poronin was an unforgettable experience full of learning, friendship, and creativity. We would gladly take part in such an exchange again.
