HILL Project Kick-Off: Embracing Wellbeing and Sustainability

The HILL (Hacking and Improving the Limits of Life) project recently celebrated its official launch at the first Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) held in Empoli, Italy, from January 10th to 13th, 2026. Partners from across Europe gathered to set the stage for this exciting initiative aimed at fostering wellbeing, sustainability, and biohacking through innovative educational resources.

The four-day meeting was a mix of strategic discussions, team-building activities, and collaborative workshops. The team worked intensively to finalize key project plans, including the Dissemination Strategy, content creation guidelines, and a timeline for producing impactful outputs. One of the highlights was the development of the HILL Manifesto, a core document that defines the values and vision of the project. This manifesto emphasizes the importance of both personal wellbeing and environmental sustainability, advocating for mindful living, simple yet effective lifestyle changes, and biohacking practices that promote mental and physical health.

A Unified Vision

The manifesto, which was finalized during the meeting, encapsulates the essence of the HILL project. It declares:

  • Wellbeing is a journey, not a destination—one that is shared and practiced daily with compassion and resilience.
  • The project prioritizes mind-body connection, encouraging practices that reduce stress and prevent burnout.
  • The HILL project also rejects the false dichotomy between personal and planetary health, promoting sustainable habits like mindful consumption, food literacy, and waste reduction.

Through the manifesto, HILL emphasizes small, practical steps that can lead to significant changes. These include exploring biohacking techniques such as optimizing sleep, focus, and mood through gentle, personalized experiments—empowering participants to lead healthier, more balanced lives.

Key Discussions and Outputs

The meeting also saw the establishment of the project’s dissemination strategy and communication guidelines. Each partner’s responsibilities were outlined, ensuring clear roles for content creation and public engagement. Planned outputs include social media campaigns, newsletters, and written articles designed to spread the project’s message and engage the wider public.

In addition, video outputs were confirmed, with 25 positive videos to be produced, aiming to share project outcomes with a broader audience. These videos will be distributed across multiple platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

The project’s collaborative effort is grounded in co-creation workshops, where young adults and youth workers will engage in hands-on activities, directly contributing to the development of educational toolkits and online resources that foster resilience, sustainability, and community engagement.

What’s Next?

With the HILL Manifesto in place, the project partners are now focused on implementing the next steps, which include the creation of posters and infographics that will be translated into multiple languages and disseminated across Europe in mid-2026. In the coming months, partners will also collaborate on e-learning platforms and interactive content for youth workers and young people, emphasizing self-care, mental health, and sustainability.

The next meeting is scheduled for March 2026, where the team will align on progress and ensure that the HILL project stays on track to deliver its transformative impact.

The journey of HILL has just begun, and its partners are united in their commitment to creating a future that is healthier, kinder, and more sustainable—for individuals and the planet alike.
