Decade of Citizens
Larnaca, Cyprus From the 4th of November till the 12th of November we participated in a Youth Exchange project called The Decade of Citizens in Larnaca, Cyprus. The main topic was the European Union. There were participants from 5 different countries including Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Armenia, and Slovakia. Our program started the day after our arrivals, where we introduced ourselves and got to know each other. We spent the following days in groups and international teams, where we learnt teambuilding and also logical thinking, we had to act as actors, singers, or dancers. During our workshops, we led debates and discussions, created our own country, political parties and presented their campaigns, explored the city as well as expressed our opinions on important topics concerning the European union.
The outcome of this project was to create videos and magazines on different topics. During the multicultural night, everyone introduced their country and found out new information about the others, we tried different national specialities as well as learnt different national dances. We got to know different cultures and created international friendships. During every lunch break, we rushed to the beach to enjoy summer in November because of the amazing sunny weather. For our last day, we went to the city Limassol, where we had a free program, and we could explore the city or enjoy ourselves on the beach. We loved this project, not only because of the location but also because of the organization of the project, which was amazing thanks to Theo and Mario. This Erasmus + project was an amazing and unforgettable experience. We will cherish these memories forever and think back on them with smiles on our faces.
