Make Your Own Environmental Youth Exchange
Between September 22 and October 6, a short-term Erasmus+ project took place in the Spanish town of Xàtiva, focusing on ecology and sustainability. During these active and intense fourteen days, we experienced a variety of interesting activities that showed us that learning can also be fun and inspiring. We formed friendships that now make us feel like we have a little piece of home scattered all across Europe.
Although our daily schedule was quite full, there was always time for fun, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences. It’s rare to meet so many like-minded people in one place, all sharing similar values and positive energy.
We lived together in a peaceful place away from the city center, surrounded by nature and animals, in a calm and harmonious atmosphere that became our little haven. We were like a small community, surrounded by sunshine, good vibes, and a pool, where we spent our free moments together.
We will never forget this experience. Along with new friendships, we are bringing home many practical skills and inspirations. We learned how to organize our own educational workshop, lead a group, and gained a deeper understanding of teamwork, open communication, and respect. We also realized that even small steps can contribute to greater sustainability, and that change begins with everyday decisions.
This project gave us new perspectives, broadened our horizons, and showed us that learning doesn’t only happen in classrooms, but also in environments full of life, sunshine, and togetherness. We’re leaving with a deep sense of gratitude for having been part of something that truly made a difference – for us and for the world around us.
