YE Slav Life

The Slav life project in Slovenia brought together over 30 people of five nationalities who have one thing in common. They are Slavs. This was the atmosphere throughout the project, in which we realized not only what divides us, but mainly what unites us.
On the first day, we had introductory activities, where each of us created a movement to remember names, which we then combined into a dance. The following days, we started the program in full swing, in the morning with games in which we tried to communicate in our native languages, and in the afternoon with presentations of the participating countries. The first one, we started with a presentation of Serbia, which showed us not only its traditions, but also how young people live there today. The next day was followed by a presentation of Slovakia, where we put on a show called I Love Slovakia, played the telephone game, taught everyone to dance the karička and competed in a dance around a bottle, presented the national costume and the traditional dress outdoors. We also introduced them to the life of a modern Slovak, the difficulties and joys associated with everyday life here. The other participants rated it very well and since it was interactive, I am sure they were not bored with us. We also offered them Slovak sweets and other specialties :).

The next day was followed by a presentation of Montenegro, then Slovenia and finally the Czech Republic. I can say that we also enjoyed their presentations and learned something new. Throughout the project, we had the challenge of learning 5 words in the language of all the nationalities that were there and at the end of the program we said them to each other. As for the travel day in the middle of the program, we visited the city of Graz, its museum and surrounding monuments. Overall, I rate the project positively, we enjoyed it and I hope we will meet again someday 🙂
