Dňa 9.12.2022 sa partia siedmich slovenských dobrodruhov stretla na Viedenskom letisku, aby spoločne započala cestu do „Paríža Pobaltia“, teda mesta, ktoré sa hrdo pýši touto prezývkou a tým je hlavné mesto Lotyšska, Riga. Po úvodných obavách zo stretnutia sa naše obavy veľmi okamžite rozplynuli, veľmi rýchlo sme si sadli do oka a už sme sa spoločne tešili na najbližších 8 dní, ktoré spolu strávime. Po pristátí v metropole Lotyšska nás ešte nachvíľu zdržala nutnosť dopozerať penalty v zápase majstrovstiev sveta medzi Chorvátskom a Brazíliou a po tejto povinnosti sme už definitívne vstúpili plní očakávaní do pre nás neznámeho a vzdialeného sveta...

V Rige sme pristáli večer a teda v úvodný deň sme stihli už len rýchlu večeru a zoznámenie sa s ďalšími ľuďmi, ktorí potom s nami strávili tento nezabudnuteľný týždeň v Rige. Po raňajkách na našom hosteli sme sa v napätí presunuli do 10 minút chôdze vzdialeného Mercury hotela, kde sa odohrávala podstatná a zároveň tá najdôležitejšia časť nášho pobytu v Rige. Všetko to mala na starosti Talianka Rosana, ktorá svoju úlohu viesť tento projekt zvládla s obrovskou noblesou a gráciou, za čo jej patrí naša obrovská vďaka a v neposlednom rade určite aj ona prispela k hladkému a bezproblémovému priebehu nášho pobytu. Stretnutia sa niesli v duchu hesla „sustainability“, teda udržateľnosti. Snažili sme sa spoločne bližšie pochopiť význam tohto slova a rôznymi aktivitami, diskusiami, hrami nájsť odpovede na rôzne problémy klimatických zmien a teda zároveň sme aj pochopili nutnosť začať od seba zmenou svojho konzumného životného štýlu, a to ideálne čo najskôr, naša planéta totiž veľmi trpí našim správaním a už jej neostáva veľa času...

Tieto stretnutia sme mali každý deň s výnimkou 13.12, tento deň bol označený ako voľný, strávili sme ho teda potulkami po Rige a večerným sledovaním semifinálového zápasu majstrovstiev v kine. Ak mám celkovo zhodnotiť tento projekt, osobne som mal obavy najmä zo stretnutia s novými ľuďmi a mojej angličtiny, našťastie sa ani jedna obava nepotvrdila, dorozumel som sa výborne a našiel som si kamarátov, zrejme na celý život. Najťažší moment nastal pri lúčení na letisku, no smútok z odchodu vystriedajú radostné spomienky na týchto nezabudnuteľne strávených 8 dní. Užívali sme si každú jednu chvíľu pobytu a som si istý, že sa naša slovenská skupinka ešte spolu stretne, pretože ako praví jedno naše známe príslovie: „kde jedna cesta končí, druhá začína“...

The project will take place between 9.-17.12.2022 in Riga, Latvia.

The majority of young рeoрle and travelers lack awareness about the current ecological situation, the
management of sensible natural resources and the imрact of residual waste, water waste and exotic souvenirs.
Small sustainable choices can influence a deeр change and lead to great results in aware communities. We
chose to analyze this topic and conceive this рroject because traveling is often a рrerogative for young рeoрle
and esрecially those active in youth work: mobility рrojects imрly that рarticiрants reach рrojects' venues
indeрendently, mostly in the cheaрest way and on time, but is this always sustainable? And do youth workers
ever try to find the most sustainable combination? Our fast рaced world led us to consumer-driven choices and
the youth worker, who рlays an imрortant role in societies, can become a model to follow not just for young
рeoрle, but for entire communities.

Participants profile

Age - between 18-25

We are looking for young people who are interested in the topic, motivated, with a proactive attitude. A good command of English is not required to expand access to the greatest number of young people and is not required a previous experience. Instead, it is desirable that the leader has a good level of English and that he/she has gained some previous experience in projects Erasmus+, in order to ensure an expert figure able to guide and support their group throughout the whole process, from preparation to the end of the dissemination activities.

Gender balance: It is important that the participants’ selection process take into consideration also the gender equality criteria.

Important info:

Accommodation, meals, and the program throughout the project are fully reimbursed according to the rules of the Erasmus + program through the project organizer.

Travel costs will be reimbursed to the participant.

Each participant is individually responsible for the planning and implementation of the trip. Extremely important: The participant is obliged to keep the travel document to and from the destination and hand it over / send it to the project organizer according to his instructions.

Reimbursement of travel costs will only be done upon full attendance of the program and presentation of all original (+return tickets) tickets, receipts, invoices, and boarding passes.

Insurance: Travel insurance is NOT paid by the participants or subsequently reimbursed. Each participant is obliged to take out health insurance, which is valid in Latvia
