The Path to Success project is a European initiative aimed at supporting young people in their transition to the labour market. It focuses on labour market insertion, career readiness, and quality career counseling, with a strong emphasis on inclusion and empowering youth workers. The goal is to enhance employability through skills development, access to guidance, and targeted support for disadvantaged groups.

Aligned with the European Year of Skills, the project promotes training and skill adaptation to match youth aspirations with current job market needs. Across Europe, young people face challenges like financial barriers, limited access to counseling, and few non-formal learning opportunities. These gaps result in a mismatch between what employers seek and the skills young people have. Even before the pandemic, 77% of companies struggled to find employees with appropriate competencies, according to the European Commission.

To tackle these issues, Path to Success began by creating Career Guidance in Action, a digital handbook featuring best practices and tools for effective youth counseling. This practical guide supports youth workers and educators in helping young people prepare for the workforce through inclusive and empowering methods.

The project is also finalizing a Career Counseling Program that will further equip youth workers with methodologies and tools to better guide young people. This ensures personalized support, particularly for those facing systemic disadvantages such as low-income backgrounds, rural isolation, or cultural barriers.
