Path to Success- Empowering Youth in Their Career Journey

The Path to Success project is a European initiative aimed at supporting young people in their transition to the labor market. It focuses on labor market integration, career readiness, and quality career guidance with an emphasis on inclusion and empowerment of youth workers. The aim is to increase employability through skills development, access to guidance, and targeted support for disadvantaged groups. In line with the European Year of Skills, the project promotes training and skills adaptation to match young people’s ambitions with the current needs of the labor market. Across Europe, young people face challenges such as financial barriers, limited access to guidance, and few opportunities for informal learning. These shortcomings lead to a mismatch between what employers are looking for and the skills that young people have. According to the European Commission, even before the pandemic, 77% of companies had problems finding employees with the right skills.

To address these issues, Path to Success began developing a digital handbook, Career Guidance in Action, which contains best practices and tools for effective youth counseling. This practical guide helps youth workers and educators prepare young people for entering the world of work through inclusive and empowering methods. The project is also finalizing a career guidance program that will provide youth workers with additional methodologies and tools to better guide young people. This will ensure personalized support, especially for those facing systemic disadvantages such as low-income backgrounds, isolation in rural areas, or cultural barriers.

Cooperation within the project came to life during the second transnational meeting in Târgoviște, Romania. The partners discussed progress and jointly designed the Job Interview Card Game, a creative tool that helps young people practice interviews in an interesting and accessible way. This resource reflects the project’s innovative approach to building soft skills that are key to employability.

Through practical tools, collaboration, and alignment with EU youth priorities, the Path to Success project prepares the next generation for a rapidly changing world of work where skills, inclusion, and self-confidence are the keys to success.
