(Un)mapped grounds – Slovinsko
Cieľom tohto projektu bolo nás naučiť ako byť lepšími pracovníkmi s mládežou a ako už názov projektu hovorí prebádať nezmapované miesta seba samých. Obe tieto ciele sa nám určite podarilo naplniť aj keď spočiatku sme predtým mali veľký rešpekt keďže naše skúsenosti s prácou s mládežou boli len veľmi malé. Tieto obavy ako sa neskôr ukázalo boli neopodstatnené keďže projekt bol navrhnutý aj pre úplných začiatočníkov. Naučili sme sa viacero vecí asi najviac sa nám páčilo to že sme si vyskúšali vymyslieť vlastnú aktivitu do čoho bolo treba vložiť množstvo kreativity. Každý takýto projekt má určitý hlavný cieľ avšak podľa nás sa najviac skrýva práve v tom že sa stretne neznáma skupina mladých ľudí, ktorá ma za úlohu niečo spolu vytvoriť a pri tejto tvorbe sa dejú tie najlepšie veci a tu sa získavajú najlepšie zážitky, ktoré sa skrývajú v poznávaní sa medzi sebou, rozprávaní sa o svojich krajinách a zdieľaní skúseností. Angličtina je jazykom projektu takže sme sa určite zlepšili nielen v rozprávaní ale aj aktívnom počúvaní a taktiež vďaka ostatným účastníkom sa naučili mnoho o podobnostiach našich jazykov. Stretli sme sa hŕstka rôznych ľudí s rôznymi skúsenosťami s rôznych krajín a tak bolo zaujímavé spoznať odlišnosti ktoré vládnu v našich krajinách a diskutovať na rôzne aj kontroverzné témy. Získali sme nové poznatky v rámci neformálneho vzdelávania ktoré sa budeme snažiť využiť aj v našich budúcich profesionálnych životoch.
Čo sa týka organizačnej stránky projektu, boli sme veľmi spokojní. Bol to prvý tréning jednej z našich facilitátoriek a myslíme si že to zvládla na jednotku. Obsah tréningu bol veľmi pútavý a zaujímavý, každý deň bol plne nabitý ale mali sme aj dostatok času si oddýchnuť. Ubytovanie bolo pekné, vhodne situované v prekrásnom strede slovinskej prírody. Čo sa týka jedla tak si nedokážeme predstaviť nič lepšie ako to čo sme dostali. Mali sme každý deň rozmanitú čerstvú stravu. Komunikácia s vysielajúcou ale aj so Slovinskou organizáciu bola výborná, vždy nám pomohli keď sme potrebovali a hlavne aj s naplánovaním cesty. Z tohto projektu si odnášame množstvo skúsenosti, zážitkov a viacero nových priateľov.
The goals of this project were to teach us how to be better youth workers and how the name of the project says to explore unmapped grounds of ourselves. We certainly managed to meet both of these goals, even though we had great respect at the beginning, as our experience of working with young people was very limited. These concerns, as it turned out later, were unfounded as the project was designed for complete beginners. We learned several things, the most we liked was the fact that we tried to design our own activity in which it was necessary to put a lot of creativity.
Each project has a certain main goal, but in our opinion bthe best part is that a group of strangers meet, whose task is to create something together and in this process the best things happen and here the unforgettable memories are made, here you can get to know each other better, talk about your countries and share experiences. English is the language of the project so we have definitely improved not only in speaking but also in active listening and also thanks to the other participants we have learned a lot about the similarities of our languages. We met a handful of different people with different experiences from different countries and so it was interesting to see the differences that prevail in our countries and discussed about also controversial topics. We have gained new knowledge in the field of non-formal education, which we will try to use in our future professional lives.
As for the organizational side of the project, we were very satisfied. It was the first training of one of our facilitators and we think she managed it very well. The content of the training was very engaging and interesting, schedule was fully from morning to evening every day, but we also had some time to relax. Accommodation was nice, conveniently located in the beautiful center of Slovenian nature. We can't imagine anything better for food than what we got. We had a varied fresh meals every day. Communication with the sending organization and also with the Slovenian organization was excellent, they always helped us when we needed and especially with the planning of the trip. We bring a lot of experience and more new friends from this project and very are very glad for this opportunity.
