We empower youth workers with digital tools

The first week of August 2022 (1.8 – 8.8), an interesting Erasmus Training programme took place in Brussels. Theme of the training was Empowering Youth with digital tools.

Over 40 participants, from 8 countries, gathered up for a week and exchanged knowledge and experiences about the digital world. With different backgrounds and age categories, a truly diverse and vibrant environment has been created by participants. Teachers and students alike, shared how they are using digital tools in their professional and personal lives to improve quality and efficiency. Everyone had a chance to discover new apps and websites, learn how to use them and apply them into their own lives.

We worked together or in groups on many tasks, ranging from presenting, video editing, online quizzing, all the way to acting, singing and dancing.

Accommodation in the centre of Brussels was good, and the dinners in the food court were just great. Kudos to the organisers, they were very professional, kind and forthcoming. They kept us busy with the program, but there was also plenty of free time to explore Brussels and surroundings. We had a guided tour of the European Parliament and a lot of free time to explore museums and surrounding towns. Many groups with a mixture of nationalities were formed and people found others with similar likes, and toured around together.

The level of English among participants was very good, so connecting with other people was very easy, and many new friendships have been established.

It was a very pleasant week of my summer, spent discovering wonderful people and places.
